Settled in 1649, Hanover, MA is a bustling little town of 15,000 that lies only 25 miles south from Boston along Route 3, the main artery from the greater Boston area to the Massachusetts South Shore and Cape Cod.

The nearest hospitals are Brockton Hospital and South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.

Hanover’s 15,000 residents reside in about 4400 households. Over 40% of these homes have children under the age of 18 living in them. About 70% of the households are occupied by married adults, and about 9% of households have someone over 65 years of age living there.  About 8% of households in Hanover have a single occupant and the average household has 3 occupants. Overall the population consists of about 30% under 18, 33% 19 to 44 years old, 25% from 45 to 64 years old and 11% 65 or older with a median age of 38 years.

You will have fun while staying in shape at Forge Park with its impressive 40 acres of athletic fields including three Little League fields,  with its amenities that include player dugouts, remote controlled solar powered score boards, batting cages, backstops, foul poles, bleachers and several rectangular fields that can be configured to accommodate different  sports like lacrosse, soccer, and football or even model rocket launching.

The Starland Sports and Fun Park is great family fun. It has miniature golf, bumper cars, laser tag, go carts, batting cages and much more.  Hanover also has a YMCA which is conveniently located near the Hanover Mall.

Things To Do Near Hanover, MA

Hanover is perfectly situated for those times when you just want to get away for a day trip or longer.   You can be on Cape Cod in an hour or in Historic Plymouth in downtown Boston in only 30 minutes and you can be in Providence, RI in an hour, or in the White Mountains of  New Hampshire in just two hours.  If you really want to spread your wings and soar around the world, Logan International Airport is only a 30 minute drive or an hour or by bus from the Hanover Mall.

 

Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay

If you prefer the sea as your getaway, or you just want to enjoy the Atlantic waterfront, beautiful Scituate Harbor is only 10 miles from Hanover and you can be there on just 20 minutes.
